GSIS Philippines

GSIS Philippines is that agency of the Philippine government that handles insurance system for all government employees. According to its official website, the mandate of this government institution is made through Commonwealth Act No. 186.


Under this act, the GSIS is administer and provide all pension fund matters and social security benefits for all the government employees in the Philippines. These services are noted to contain disability benefits for work-related contingencies, optional life insurance, compulsory life insurance, death benefits and retirement benefits.

The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) in the Philippines is also to handle matters on providing insurance coverage to all properties and assets of the Philippine government including all insurable interests. This particular mandate is covered in R.A. 656 of the Property Insurance Law.
